Senator Mike Reichenbach Honors His "Contract with the Pee Dee"

 

FLORENCE, SC - As part of his campaign pledge, Mike Reichenbach made a ten-point "Contract with the Pee Dee." In his first term as State Senator, Mike has honored - and continues to honor - that commitment to his constituents:

  • Mike committed to donate his entire Senate salary to charities serving the Pee Dee. He delivered ten $1,000 checks to local area organizations to help deliver their mission. (Read more HERE)
  • Mike committed to fighting for term limits. He has co-sponsored term limit legislation each session in the Senate because he believes that the power should remain in the hands of the people, not the politicians. (S.302 of 2021; S.172 of 2023)
  • Mike believes that the voices and opinions of the community ought to be heard. He has held, and will continue to hold, organized town halls and listening sessions. (Read more HERE)
  • Ending politics as usual and offering solutions to the issues most important to our community is important. Mike has done just that in the Senate and continues to look for opportunities to solve complex problems with unique and effective solutions. (S.444 of 2023; S.482 of 2023)
  • Mike committed to working to lower the state income tax for individuals, families and job-creating businesses. Mike supported a $2 billion tax cut – the largest tax in state history. (Senate Roll Call #9967 of 2022)
  • As a law enforcement officer, Mike committed to supporting police, sheriff and other law enforcement agencies. He has advocated for comprehensive support for law enforcement and secured funding for Pee Dee law enforcement agencies during his time in the Senate. (S.239 of 2023; S.252 of 2023; H.4300 of 2023)
  • Wasteful spending, backroom deals and corporate bailouts is not a good stewardship of taxpayer dollars. Mike has a record of protecting our tax dollars from misuse. (H.4300 of 2023; Senate Roll Call #170 of 2023)
  • Mike believes that education dollars should be spent in the classroom and away from government bureaucracy and that parents can best make decisions for their child’s education.
